BaKoMa TeX 10.10 Mac runs on Mac OS X 10.6 and later. bakoma-tex.pkg (15 MB) installs most useful components of BaKoMa TeX and LaTeX. Just double-click [Download] button to download and install BaKoMa TeX. Much more additional packages will be downloaded from our servers and added to your installation when they are required by your documents. Read more about this version.

To install BaKoMa TeX just click on [Download] link, wait for download completion, and open downloaded pkg-file.

NOTE: At end of installation, postinstall script will download starter kit of LaTeX packages and fonts (10-15 MB), which requires internet connection. So, that complete download may be up to 30 MB.

BaKoMa TeX CD

BaKoMa TeX CD includes installation package (bakoma-tex.pkg) and almost complete set of another packages. CD will be automatically used as source for installing additional packages if BaKoMa TeX was installed by using installation package from the CD. After update, only updated packages will be downloaded from our servers but other packages will be installed directly from CD.

Note, If you want to avoid additional internet downloads you can install BaKoMa TeX from this CD.

Note, that we use the same CD for Windows and Mac versions of BaKoMa TeX.

Note, that you needn't to burn physical CD disk. You can just mount ISO file by double click on it.

To install BaKoMa TeX double click 'bakoma-tex.pkg' immeditelly on mounted CD volume.
(Do not move pkg-file before openning it.) Otherwise, CD volume will not be found and
all additional modules will be downloaded via internet instead of using mounted volume.

Incremental Update

If you have found more newer version of BaKoMa TeX on our site then one installed on your computer
you can update it in following steps:

1. Restart your computer. [click apple in left top corner of your display and choose 'Restart...' option]
   In case of OSX 10.7 (Lion) check off 'Reopen windows when logging back in' in restart confirmation dialog.
   After this step we can be sure that no BaKoMa TeX programs are running and that all cashes will be resetted properly.
2. Download newer pkg-file and open it.

In this case only updated latex packages will be reinstalled. In most cases it will be done much faster then complete reinstall.

Clear reinstall

In case of corrupted updates, autodownloads, reconfigs installation may be inconsistent.
In this case problems may be solved by Clear reinstall, which must be done preciselly in following order:

1. Restart your computer. [click apple in left top corner of your display and choose 'Restart...' option]
   In case of OSX 10.7 (Lion) check off 'Reopen windows when logging back in' in restart confirmation dialog.
2. Remove '/Applications/BaKoMa TeX' folder.
3. Remove '~/Library/BaKoMa TeX' directory. [It clears all user settings] In case of several users this action may be required for every user.
4. Install BaKoMa TeX again by openning proper pkg-file.

Clear uninstall

Just perform actions 1-3 from previous section.

Limitations of MAC version:

• DVIPS not included, but PostScript may be saved via File/Print.
• TeX4HT not included - Export HTML4 isn't supported (use Export SVG + HTML).
• Configure Font Families and using Windows system fonts are not supported.
• Package Manager not included - automatical package installation works well.
• Key binding is some compromise between Windows and Mac conventions. It is tag for following improvements.
